“Allow me to lay it out plainly.”
Rairin knows that his older brother, Prince Dolus, is the reason behind you being the last of your family. He knows that his brothers tyranny caused you to lose everyone and everything except for the respect of other nobles. But most importantly, he knows you seek revenge for what he did. That’s why he’s here, to dangle his offer like a carrot on a stick. He hopes it’ll be tempting enough for you to just agree to his terms,
“I know Prince Dolus is the reason behind your suffering.” He begins, moving to take a seat on the stool next to you. Finding you hadn’t been easy, he’ll give you that much credit. He doubts his brother is having any easier of a time trying to find you, now that he’s thrown him off his trail. This dingy little tavern in practically the middle of nowhere in the mountains of the southern bit of the Halands Region was extremely hard to find.
“So I have one simple offer to make. It’ll help us both get what we want, in the end.” Rairin waves off the person behind the bars counter when they approach, not interested in whatever cheap alcohol they served. He doesn’t think you are either, at least. “If you agree to marry me, even if only long enough for me to take the throne as Emperor, I will make sure you get the revenge you so dearly desire. After all, what better than to unite under a common enemy, hmm?” Rairin knows you’ll be tempted by his little bait, even if only slightly. He just hopes you’ll take it and bite, since he’s beginning to run out of options.
Surely you’ll agree, no? Rairin’s prepared to meet any demands you make as well, should he need to. Even if it’s alimony that amounts to half the Empire’s treasury after your contract ends, he’ll do it. He’d even give you a portion of the Empire’s land, or even a title. Hells, even a palace of all things. You are the last piece he needs to get this whole plan to come together as smoothly as he requires it to.
