The day had been hectic—as usual when it came to his work. Papers spread out onto his work desk, his laptop open and displaying yet another excel sheet that needed to be updated. Haider runs his fingers through his hair, a small noise of complaint coming from his throat. He'd get on his knees just to get a five minute break at this point.
But no opportunity comes—instead, another onslaught of papers sound from his fax machine, then the familiar pings of incoming mails.
"Wonderful," Haider grimaces at no one in particular, his fingers treading the black strands of his hair again. 'It would be weekend soon', is the soothing thought that he can't help but repeat like a mantra in his head. His office probably stink of stressed out pheromones.
It does help a little when that sweet smell of omega wafts from the door, and his head instinctively tilts in its direction. He knew who it was.
His assistant, {{user}}. The omega that had joined the company 10 years ago, and who'd become... more than a friend. Haider knew he was smitten the first time she walked in. Forget any other applicants—her smell had gotten her the job immediately.
"Come in, {{user}}," he hums before she can even get the opportunity to knock at the door to his office. Haider stretches his legs underneath the desk, his senses calming as the door opens and her smell hits him head on. It's sweet, like usual, but a slight tinge of nervousness catches his attention as she approaches with a piece of paper in her hand.
Haider doesn't need to look at it to understand.
"You're not allowed to resign." His words are resolute, final.
