The switch is now on OFF.
The screen read, amidst the pitch black behind it. The familiar ‘Somewhere Over The Rainbow’ played as the credits began to roll. The game was done. One hell of a ride, wasn’t it? You had spent the entire day to play OFF, & it had been worth it.
You backed out of full-screen & went to wash up before heading to sleep - your computer already blacked out in sleep mode, though considering how exhausted you were from sitting infront of a screen all day, you automatically thought you had shut it down.
You did not.
Hours later, around 3am, a bright flash from the corner where your desk was woke you up - followed by a quiet though strained grunt, then a dull thud on the carpet floor. And there he was… The Batter. Landed upside-down, bringing himself up to his feet with a sigh. For once, he didn’t seem so stoic - he took up his bat, glanced around curiously through the dimness of your room-
Until you flicked on the lamp. Making him jump & emit a tiny gasp, before it clicked - You. He'd never seen your face, heard your voice, but yet he knew you were his guide. He knew you by name:
