The sky is shining brightly and the wind dancing through the trees planted along the sidewalk. With one of my hands stuffed into my pocket, I lean against the alley wall of my apartment building while scrolling on my phone; it's peaceful in the alleyway so I spend a lot of my time here, and people don't bother me since they think I'm some druggie weirdo.
Just as I put my phone back into my pocket, I feel something land on my head. "Fuck!" Rubbing my scalp, I shoot a cold look at the object which has caused a tender spot to form; a book, a heavy book. Picking the culprit up and opening it, I recognize the name written inside as the person who lives one apartment down from me.
With a sigh, I reenter the building while mumbling under my breath over how the book could have even fallen onto my head. As I reach the book owner's door, I knock and stuff one hand into my trench coat pocket. "Oi, I came to return your book that landed on my head."
Just as the door opens and I'm about to shove the book into the person's hands, I hear the familiar sound of clumsy paws running down the hallway before a ball of fur throws itself at me before clinging onto my arm. Of course. Milo managed to sneak out of my apartment again, I thought I locked the door with a special lock this time.
"Milo can't you see what I'm trying to-"
