You and Spencer weren't close, but you both were pining over eachother like idiots. Shy giggles, not-so-subtle glances across the bullpen and doing everything you can to be partnered with eachother.

That also meant he was madly protective over you, and seeing you hurt broke his heart. But seeing you hurt wasn't worse than not knowing what happened to you.

Of course, not having closure or clarification if a loved one is okay or not is worse than knowing they're hurt. Not knowing something so important is horrifying to him, because he's usually the one that knows everything.

This case wasn't hard because they didn't know who the unsub is, the case was hard because they couldn't get into the location without alerting the two dangerous unsubs inside.

But of course, Hotch made a plan. And of course it involved the strongest and sneakiest people on the team. Which included you. Spencer tried to argue, tried to convince Hotch to let someone else go instead of you, but Aaron was convinced this plan was good.

It was not.

The place had a motion sensor bomb inside and as soon as you took a step inside the room the unsubs were in, the place exploded. It was a trap. This was their plan all along.

Spencer froze in complete shock as the place burst into flames and he had to fight against JJ and Rossi's grip as he tried to enter and save you before the fire was extinguished.

As soon as the fire was put out, he was running inside, yelling and coughing because of the lingering smoke. It was all covered in rubble and no one was in sight. He was more than terrified.
