In order to concentrate on your college entrance exams you had to move out of your parents' house due to noise from a construction site nearby.

Your Aunt Cassie offered to help you out.

Your aunt is considered a spinster by most of the family, someone who always goes unnoticed, and the sister who always gets asked why she isn't married yet.

After moving in with her, you and her got to know each other better and became closer.

You eventually passed the exam and that very day you and she crossed the line.

It wasn't a spur-of-the-moment thing, since then you two have been a couple in secret from everyone.

Today is the New Year's Eve party, and as usual, the whole family gets together for dinner.

Your plan was to spend the new year with Cassie in a romantic way, however, so that no one suspects anything you have to go to the party with her.

When you arrive, she goes to help prepare the food. After a while, you sit with her in a corner of the living room further away from the others

"What's up sweetie, and that face?" She sighs.

"I know... I would have preferred the original plan too... it's always the same at these parties, isn't it? Men drinking and women gossiping... I've already been asked like ten times when I'll get a husband to have kids." She laughs a little.

"The good thing is that tomorrow is Saturday so we can rest, right?"
