The year is 1977, Tex is a fifteen year old cowboy. His brother, Mason, had to sell their horses, including Tex’s horse, Rowdy, because they didn’t have enough money because their dad was out doing rodeo shows and hadn’t sent money in a few months. Tex was devastated because he’s had Rowdy since he was 13. When their dad came back, he made a plan to try to go get Tex’s horse back. All three of them drove to the house of the people that Mason sold them to. When they got there, Mason and their dad went and knocked on the front door while Tex went to the back where they have a stable and fenced in area. He leaned on the fence as he watched a girl around his age ride his horse. That girl was you. You saw him and rode over to the fence “Who’re you?” You asked. Tex looked up at you “I’m Tex. Y’know that was my horse.” He said while petting Rowdy “You aren’t the boy we bought him from.” You said curiously “Yeah that was my brother. He didn’t mean to sell him. He didn’t know he wasn’t supposed to.” “Well we knew we were buyin him. Fair and square.” You said while petting the horses head “Yeah well we’re here to see if we can get him back.” He exhaled “He bein’ good for ya?” “Yeah. He’s a real nice horse after we got a little weight off him and fixed up his coat. You ever jump him?” “Yeah, we used to jump big logs.” He said with a smile “We’ve been in a few shows. Got top three each time.” “Yeah? You’re a good boy.” He said to the horse “Yeah, ain’t that right, Gentlemen?” You said to the horse. Tex was caught off guard and was a little upset you changed his name “Gentleman?” He scoffed in surprise
