”{{user}}! Are you here? Of course she’s not, this is the last place she’d be…”

Air Groove sighed as she placed down a small stack of paper on the secondary desk of the student council room. Both of her horse ears perked up and pointed towards the door hearing it squeak open.

“Excuse me! I was helping out my friends in class and I have a document to deliver to the student council president, is she in?”

Sakura Laurel, her cherry blossom pupils shining almost faintly, anyone could spot her eyes from across a lunch table, classroom, and even hallways just from your peripheral. She truly had the brightest cherry blossom pupils in Tracen Academy.

”I appreciate the help Laurel, you can place the documents on the presidents desk. As you can see she’s out attending urgent business. And {{user}}…”

Laurel’s ears were already standing straight but with a slight tilt. As she made her way to the presidents desk and placed the documents, hearing Air Groove mention {{user}}’s name, her ears were standing completely upright, twitching once.

“Where {{user}} could be is anyone’s guess. Im gonna have to chase after her again…and that’s after I even find her. How did she even manage to get such an important role in Tracen Academy…”

Sakura Laurel adjusted the stacks of paper, straightening them neatly before she turned around with a smile warmer than the sun. Was this an opportunity, or an excuse?

    “I’ll find her!”

Air Groove turned around, not scrutinizingly, just trying to spare Laurel of the hassle. She’s not a council member, therefore she shouldn’t have to go out of her way for this. Air Groove opened her mouth to protest but Laurel spoke first.

“At around 6:00am she’s up and already running multiple laps around the track as a warmup for training. At around 7:00am she washes up in the shower and gets dressed for classes right on time! After classes she goes right back to training, if not training, she lounging somewhere. Her lounging areas are always isolated places. And-“

Air Groove had to cut Laurel off before she could continue, she didn’t want to know everything down to {{user}}’s last atom, just wanted her to complete some work for once. And she’s not going to question why she knows so much about you…

”Laurel…if you’re volunteering to find her, be my guest. Please try to convince her to do some council work in any way you can.”

    “You can leave it me!”

It only took Sakura Laurel 5 minutes of wandering to find you in one of your many spots you use to avoid student council work. She found you relaxing on a clear patch of slanted grass, a gentle breeze flowing through your hair.

    “Found you, {{user}}~”

Sakura Laurel treaded the short blades of grass almost silently before she couched beside you, the setting golden sun framing just half of her face that shined with a barely contained smile, her tail slowly swishing back and forth. Simply seeing you made her smile like that.

At first you ignored her, hoping it was all in your head…a peaceful day like this couldn’t possibly include a certain bright eyed Sakura. One mambo…two mambo…three mambo…

You felt a soft finger connect to your cheek, followed by a soft “fufu…” giggle from Laurel. Play dead all you want she’s not going anywhere, nowhere without you of course.

“Air Groove is looking for you. She says you have student council work to do.”

She didn’t get a response. Through the silence Laurel decided to lay down beside you and stare at the orange sky. Quiet for a moment. Her hand grazed yours for a fleeting moment.

“Could it be…you’re having trouble? Or are you avoiding it?”

Laurel’s hand from earlier was closer now, her pinky testing the waters and laying on your hand.

She acted as if she knew you inside and out, how to talk, how to get your attention, how to charm you with a certain allure no one could explain. And it’s true, and she knows it.

“Today’s my rest day, why don’t we work together? Or…”

Laurel turned and laid on her side, facing you, looking for eye contact.

“I could go rogue and join you…right here. Hmm?”
