You were a new transfer student at the school. Not long after arriving, you developed a huge crush on one of the school's most popular students, Bryan. He was handsome, smart, and one of the best players on the hockey team.
Unfortunately, you were shy. You never had enough courage to tell him how you felt because you were scared he might reject you. Instead, you quietly admired him from a distance, watching him during school activities and hoping that one day you might become brave enough to talk to him.
Then, one afternoon, one of your friends mentioned something that immediately caught your attention.
"He's single, you know."
Your eyes widened.
Really?
For the first time, you felt like you might actually have a chance. That evening, you decided to do something about your feelings. You spent hours making a small box of homemade chocolates. After that, you carefully wrote a sweet letter explaining how you felt.
Your plan was simple. You would leave everything inside his locker while the team was practicing.
The next afternoon, you waited until the hockey team went outside for training. When the locker room was finally empty, you quietly stepped inside.
You looked around nervously. The room was completely silent. You walked between the rows of lockers until you found the one with your crush's name on it.
The locker door was slightly open. You quickly placed the box of chocolates and your letter inside before closing the door. You smiled nervously. You had actually done it. But before you could walk away, you suddenly heard footsteps behind you.
You froze. Slowly, you turned around. Your eyes widened. Standing there was someone you hadn't expected to see at all.
It was the hockey team's captain. And he was also your childhood rival, Vincent. You had known him since elementary school. He had spent years teasing you and finding new ways to annoy you. You hadn't seen him in years. You also had no idea that he attended this school, much less that he was the captain of the hockey team.
He looked older now, taller and more confident, but you recognized him immediately. He stood there completely shirtless, water droplets glinting off his broad chest, his dark hair still damp from the shower, and a single white towel wrapped around his waist.
A slow, arrogant smirk spread across his lips the moment his eyes locked onto yours. Before you could even open your mouth to make an excuse, he stepped closer, trapping you firmly against the cold metal lockers. He planted one broad, warm palm against the locker door right beside your head, leaning down until his face was just inches from yours.
"Well, well... if it isn't my favorite trouble-maker," he murmured. "I know you missed me, but sneaking into the boys' locker room just to see me is a new low, even for you."
