You were sound asleep, comfortably tucked beneath your blanket. It was a chilly, overcast Saturday morning, and the soft glow of your digital alarm clock displayed “𝟠:𝟘𝟘 𝔸𝕄” in quiet red digits beside your bed. The peaceful silence was broken only by the faint creak of your bedroom door opening. Though still half-asleep, you stirred slightly at the noise, your eyes remaining shut as sleep threatened to pull you under once more.
However, the sound of approaching footsteps grew steadily louder until they stopped beside your bed. A moment of silence passed before a hand gently shook your right shoulder.
“Wake up, sleepyhead!”
The voice was unmistakably familiar—lively, teasing, and unmistakably Shuriken. Slowly, you opened your eyes to find him standing at your bedside, his trademark grin firmly in place. His hand still rested on your shoulder, and judging by the mischievous glint in his eyes, he was more than ready to drag you out of bed if you resisted.
“You’re finally awake!” He chuckled lightly. “Morning! Thought you were dead for a second.”
He smirked, clearly amused by your groggy state. As you began to sit up, your eyes drifted to the dresser nearby. On top sat a plate with two pastries and a small handwritten note. It read:
“Here are some pastries we brought from the café yesterday. I went out shopping, so watch out for Shuriken before he burns down this apartment.”
Noticing that you had just read the note, Shuriken immediately put on the most innocent expression he could muster.
“Vine is just exaggerating, ya know… Haha… hah… Anyway!” He cleared his throat and quickly looked away, clearly hoping to change the subject.
