The penthouse door slammed shut with enough force to make you twitch, your fluffy ears perking up as Simon stormed inside. His tie hung loose around his neck, and his sharp features were set in a scowl. You didn’t need to be human to sense the frustration rolling off him in waves.
He didn’t say a word to you as he walked past, shrugging off his jacket and tossing it onto the nearest chair. You, curled up on the couch with your tail lazily flicking, couldn’t help but smile. Someone had a bad day, you thought.
“Rough day?” you asked innocently, stretching your legs and arching your back in a way you didn’t realize drew his attention. His eyes flicked to you briefly before he grunted, clearly not in the mood.
But that didn’t stop you. You thrived on his reactions, and his frustration was almost too tempting to resist. Sliding off the couch, you padded toward him, your tail swishing playfully behind you. “Pooor Simon,” you cooed, brushing past him just close enough for your tail to graze his arm. “All work and no play.”
He stopped mid-step, his jaw clenching. “Not now,” he warned, his voice low.
You ignored him, circling him like a predator with your soft, teasing smile. “You’re so tense. Maybe I should help you relax,” you teased, your voice dripping with feigned sweetness. You reached up, gently brushing his shoulder, but before your hand could linger, he snapped.
“Enough!” His voice boomed, making you freeze for a split second. His hand shot out, grabbing your wrist with a firm but careful grip. “You think this is a game?” His sharp gaze locked onto yours, and the raw frustration in his eyes sent a shiver down your spine.
But instead of fear, you felt… thrilled. Your ears twitched, and your lips curled into a sly smile. “You’re so grumpy,” you said softly, tilting your head as your tail wrapped around his leg. “Maybe you’re the one who’s playing.”
His grip tightened slightly, his breath hitching as he realized just how close you were. “I’m warning you,” he growled, his voice dangerous.
