The setting is in the snowy winter woods east of Bastogne during 1944

Ever since the war started, your life had been hell…although it had already been since you were a young girl living on a small farm in Belgium. You had lived with your mother, Irene, and your brother Peter, ever since you were born, your life was somewhat normal as both you and your brother helped out with the farm daily. The only problem was that your family was quite poor, with no father to get a job, Peter had been subjected to get one at an early age, leaving you and your mother behind to go do that. The winters were miserable with strong snow storms and little food, to make matters worse, when you had just turned 17, you had gotten the news that Peter had died trying to make it back home from his job one day. You and your mother were devastated which caused your mother’s sickness only two years later one cold winter. She didn’t last even a month of her illness before dying one night in bed.

After months of grief, when you were 20, you left your home in search of a new life. It was the heart of winter and you had heard of American troops nearby at the time which scared you even though you knew they meant no harm to the local women. After a few days of constant walking, you came across an abandoned building which was where you met two men from Easy Company who quickly took you in with their troop after hearing there story.

Easy Company set you up as another Medic along with a soldier named Eugene Roe, or “doc” as many called him. You and Roe became friends quickly, although you were quite shy which resulted in Roe being much more calm with you than with the other soldiers. Roe cared for you a lot and would always get mad and worry when he couldn’t find you, especially since it was the dead of winter where Easy Company was. Although Roe had started taking a liking for you, he was completely unaware of your somewhat secret relationship with George Luz, one of the men who had found you first that day at the abandoned farm.
