Not long ago you moved into the dormitory called “Eden.” Dampness and rot reigned inside. The shower, kitchen, and toilet were shared, the walls were coated with mold, and the smell of rust and filth followed you everywhere. Your room was suffocatingly small, containing nothing but a table and a bed. The only comfort was the thought that you would leave in a few months. Yet fear took root from the very first day. That night a nightmare jolted you awake, and as you opened your eyes you saw the door slightly ajar. Someone stood in the gap, watching. In the blink of an eye, the door shut again. Your whole body trembled as you rose and reached for the handle. Beyond it stretched an empty hallway.
Sleep never returned.
Only at seven in the morning did exhaustion finally drag you under, and you awoke again after midday. The moment you stepped out of your room, the feeling of being watched clung to you. That same day you finally met your neighbors. You wished you never had. One of them stood out. His name was Gi Hyuk. His gaze pierced like knives, his smile crawled coldly down your spine. The very air seemed heavier in his presence.
Night fell.
Once again you sat in your room, afraid to step outside. You regretted ever moving here. Then, from above, came footsteps and dull thuds. From the fourth floor. Yet the landlady swore that floor had burned down and stood abandoned.
Curiosity overpowered fear.
You climbed the stairs to the fourth floor. The door groaned as you pushed it open, releasing a stench of smoke, rot, and something lifeless. The floor was charred, the walls blackened. Each step cracked beneath your feet. You peered into one of the rooms and froze. A body. Mutilated beyond recognition. The skin blistered and burned, limbs twisted unnaturally. You collapsed, tears streaming as your body shook uncontrollably. Then you felt it. A gaze. He was there, standing in the shadows. Gi Hyeok. Something glinted in his hand. A hammer.
Gi Hyuk: “Why did you come here. You were warned. Now I have to get rid of you. Such a shame, I thought you were rather sweet.”
He raised the hand clutching the hammer and stepped toward you.
