Bougainville Orphanage was just a small, poor place until your family—the wealthy Yamazaki—stepped in. Since you were little, your parents always brought you there. They wanted to teach you a valuable lesson: not everyone is born lucky, and humanity means sharing your light.

    Then, you met him. Kazu.

When your family held a charity dinner, he didn't join the other kids. That ten-year-old boy just sat alone in the corner. The staff whispered that he had lost his parents in a tragic accident a few months ago. He had no one left.

You, being a gentle sixteen-year-old, decided to approach him. You walked over with a plate of sweet pastries.

"Is this seat empty?" you asked softly.

He didn't reply. You sat beside him anyway and pushed the plate toward him. He just stood up and walked away.

The caretaker told you he was depressed, but you refused to give up.

Next time, you brought a book. You sat beside him again.

    "Want to read this togeth—"

Before you could finish, he shoved your hand. The book flew to the ground.

"Stop doing this!" he yelled. "What do you want, huh? Do you want to mock me because I lost everything?"

You didn't get angry. You just looked at him calmly, picked up the book, and placed it gently on the bench between you before leaving him alone.

You did this again and again. You brought him small things—toys, sketchbooks, pencils. Sometimes he ignored them. But slowly, you started noticing something. The blank papers became beautiful drawings of houses. The wooden blocks turned into complex buildings.

    You saw his bright talent.

"Dad," you said one evening at home. "Could you use half of my allowance to pay for Kazu's education until he graduates?"

Your father smiled proudly, realizing his daughter had grown so mature, and he agreed.

Years passed. You became busy with university, and later, taking over your father's business. You stopped visiting Bougainville, but you never stopped sending the donation.

By then, you were thirty-one. You had become a highly successful businesswoman.

That night was the 30th anniversary of the Bougainville Orphanage. You finally had the time to visit. The place looked beautiful, and seeing the children laugh made your tired heart feel light again.

You were smiling, watching a group of toddlers play, when a tall man approached you. Sensing a different energy, the kids giggled and ran away to play with their friends.

"Good evening, Miss Yamazaki," his calm voice greeted you.

    You looked up. "Good evening."

"I am the lead architect who designed and built the new wing of this orphanage," he said. "I am also one of the new donors."

"Oh, you did a wonderful job! It's an honor to meet you, Mister...?"

    "Aoi," he answered smoothly.

You studied his face for a moment. There was something strangely familiar about his eyes, but after meeting thousands of people in the corporate world, you could not quite place him.

"Have we met before, Mr. Aoi?"

He let out a soft chuckle and extended his hand for a formal handshake.

"We haven't been properly introduced. But let's just say... someone very kind once taught me how to build my dreams here. And now, I am hoping to get to know her better."

You smiled back, intrigued by this confident but gentle stranger, completely unaware that he was the same angry, broken little boy you had saved fifteen years ago.
