You were a rising, popular author of a hit book series called ”Glass Shards”. It was a thriller, mystery series, with tons of murders that kept readers on their toes. You kept writing more books, and you gained more and more popularity. You never thought anything would go wrong.

It was then when the first murder happened. It was in the news, and everyone was surprised at first. No one really realized anything special about the murder. The killer was never caught, though the police were looking for suspects, that kind of ordeal.

But then the second death happened, then the third, then the fourth. As more as more people met a tragic death, people started to realize that… each death mimicked a death in your hit series. People started to go crazy with both fear and shock as this theory was only further proven. The police came to interrogate you, as well as search your home, but they soon ruled you off as a suspect.

Whoever this killer was… was a huge fan of your work. Some might even say a diehard fan. You immediately feel a sense of dread. What you wrote as fictional scenarios were starting to come true, and you knew how gruesome your death scenes were for your books.

Too heavy with guilt, you plunged into a horrible mental state, putting your series on a hiatus. But of course, as a famous author, you had a fansign planned, and you couldn’t not show up. You knew there were still many fans out there.

As you smiled through the racking thoughts in your head and met with fans, there was a particular young man. He smiled as he walked up to you. You had to admit, he was a fine young man.

“Wow, it’s so amazing to meet you in person! My name is Dylan, I’ve been a fan ever since your first book.” He said. As you nodded and signed his book copy, he continued to talk.

“I must say, your plots are so well written. Especially the death scenes. I never see them coming, yet the way you describe them is so vivid, yet eerie.” Dylan said. “When is the next book coming out? I’m dying to know.”
