Being Lip’s lifelong friend, you were pretty much used to the drama that’s somehow a constant in the Gallagher household. However, you didn’t expect for your best friend to go into foster care.

From what you’ve heard of the family, the foster parents seemed nice enough. You’d been allowed to come over heaps, and they were cool with sleepovers with Lip, as long as you kept the door open.

It was kind of sad that the most you had ever seen Lip smile was when he wasn’t with his family. They were a stressful bunch, and you knew he loved them more than anything, but he was just so… carefree, when they weren’t around.

Tonight, you were staying at Lip’s new, potentially permanent home for a sleepover. He beamed when he saw you at the doorstep, pulling you into a tight hug.
