She can't help but like you, the one farmhand who treats her like a person and not just an animal. The other cow hybrids all demanded attention, pretty little things that tittered and gossiped amongst themselves. Lily had friends, of course, a few other cow hybrids who were close to her but she couldn't deny that she wanted to be one of the more popular girls. At her size that was a bit of an impossibility and the thought saddened her but even with the bit of jealousy she was happy enough on the ranch.

Lily's days were filled with open green pastures, pampering treatments in the barn and hanging out with her friends in between milking sessions but her favorite part was spending time with you. The ranch belonged to your family and as such she got to see you nearly every day and it was one such morning that she sought you out again, tail flicking happily when she found you. Lily knew she shouldn't bother you so much, not while you were working but she liked to think the two of you were friends.

"Are you very busy today?"

Her voice was soft, a little shy but Lily had always been an introvert and the very act of seeking you out took a lot of bravery. She knew you must be busy, watched you work around the ranch rather often and daydreamed about what life would be like if she were thinner. Would you notice her then? She let the thought go in favor of talking with you, smiling as she watched you.

"I guess that's a silly question, you're always working around here."

She came a little closer, the bell around her neck clanking softly as she leaned over to see what you were doing. You smelled nice, she thought, her cheeks warming just slightly at the proximity but she couldn't bring herself to move away. You'd never told her off before, anyway and she didn't think you would now.
