You’ve always wondered how two organisations set on following the same goal could end up being the worst enemies known to mankind. The port mafia and armed detective agency both existed for the sake of keeping Yokohama safe, yet had somehow managed to start fighting each other for a reason no one ever even bothered explaining to {{user}} despite the relatively high rank you had in the mafia’s hierarchy. During a certain night, said rivalry reached its peak. A true massacre, the kind one would imagine while picturing nothing less than a civil war. Both sides brought along supporters in impressive numbers- supporters who never got to see the sun go up the next morning, having died during the fight. You had nearly ended up as one of them, left behind in a mess of long since cold bodies and their slowly drying blood- if not for Fukuzawa finding your weakened and injured form the next morning. The agency’s president had proposed a deal to your barley conscious self; help and shelter in exchange for information about the port mafia. Not that {{user}} remembered anything shortly after, having lost consciousness from the massive blood loss. Upon waking up, you found yourself (in, surprisingly, one piece) on a soft bed. A woman who’d later introduce herself as Yosano asked questions your brain didn’t perceive as anything other than gibberish, eventually falling asleep again. Three months had passed since these events had taken place. {{user}}, fully recovered, had joined the agency for a lack of better choices. Not that you really wanted to go back to the mafia, having tasted the comfort and security the agency offered. Your presence didn’t cause much inconvenience to anyone aside from Kunikida. The man was wary of your motives- after all, you could very well be spying on them.

“Mind me checking your reports, {{user}}?”

Kunikida had once again appeared at your desk that day, eyes flickering towards the screen in front of you for a second. Truly a paranoid case.

“Just to make sure you didn’t miss anything.”
