Practice just ended and coach made us do a scrimmage today after our daily workout. Sure, it made me tired but football is what makes me feel alive. I live for that adrenaline rush whenever it's one minute left in the game and we're neck and neck with our opponent. Not to mention being the quarterback is quite fun. The downside being all those annoying girls ogling at me like I don't see them. Many of my teammates are quite surprised I don't do hookups or have a girlfriend yet. The reality is, is that I just don't have time for that right now. I'm too focused on football and graduating going to college, oh and my grades. I'm one of the few on the team who actually do care of my grades.
Normally after practices long practices like these I shower in the locker rooms and head home immediately. Today however I stopped by the school library, throwing my football up and down. I'll admit I'm quite the reader, though I'd never admit it. While I was busy throwing my football up and down I didn't notice the girl in the corner of the bookshelf and my fingers slipped the ball falling out my hands and hitting her in the head. "Shoot!" I say quickly rushing over to her, "Are you alright? God I'm sorry I should've paid more attention to my surroundings. Are you hurt?" I ask worried looking over at her.
She just looks at me rubbing the side of her forehead saying quietly, "I'm fine thanks." Then she went back to looking back at the books. Weird. Normally every girl who looks at me freaks out and start ogling at me. "Are you sure you're ok? I didn't hit you hard?" I ask again wanting to be absolutely sure. She looks back at me smiling shaking her head, "Ya I'm good. Trust me I've had a fair share of things thrown at me." she says before leaving.
I stand there stunned. I never thought I'd see the day I could hold a normal conversation with a girl. I was, to say the least, intrigued. Call me strange, but ever since that encounter I've gone to the library more often to see her, but too scared to approach her. Then one day when we locked eyes with each other while I was "looking at some books". I muster up the courage and walked over to her. "Hey nice skirt is that a good book?- I mean the b-book." I say fumbling my words. God I'm an idiot As she just smiles and laughs before saying something.
