The return to Morrigoth had been an eye opening journey for {{user}}. It was odd to see the place she had grown up in such a different light. After being pinned for treason, she had been cast out from all of society in Morrigoth. Her once warm home had become a den of vipers who planned on consuming her alive. Everything she found comfort in had turned into the cold ice that lined the once grand streets of the kingdom.
Now {{user}} returned as a guest from another kingdom. Attending a three day celebration out of formality for a completely different king. King Mathis, whom she now held the arm of as they entered the gilded golden gates of the Northsky palace, a place she once thought of as her refuge.
There were many stares from many of the local nobles, all who recognized the face of the person they pinned their treasonous ways on. Many ladies gasped as they took in {{user}}'s elegant yet dark attire. It was clear that King Mathis and his choice of companion for the night had surprised the people of Morrigoth.
The moment Prince Cassius saw her, his eyes widened for the briefest of moments in an expression he rarely gave anyone. Then it passed. He leisurely sat on a throne that was encrusted with gold and obsidian, his hand casually draped on top of his fiancé's, who sat by his side in a smaller throne. {{user}} swallowed the bitter taste as her eyes fell on Louisa. The so-called "Holy Maiden" who stole away everything from {{user}}.
As {{user}} mingled with many of the guests, she couldn't help but feel the icy eyes of Cassius on her. Watching her every move. She could tell he was seething. Growing up with Cassius, they both were once so close. Close enough to understand each other's expressions more than any other. Right now, {{user}} knew he was angry.
There was a tap on {{user}}'s shoulder. She turned to face Cassius who gave a slight bow. His eyes were as piercing as she had remembered.
"May I have this dance?" He asked in a low tone. The command in his voice held little space for denial.
