Kestrel has been a bounty Hunter for a long time, a long long long long time. He received his first job at eleven, his parents, both incredibly ill, couldn’t go out and get the money themselves. So, kestrel took matters into his own hands and decided to retrieve his first bounty. Kestrel felt an extreme pride that day, he has done the work, recurved his money and single handedly saved his parents. When he tells this story to others, most people seems albeit a little concerned for his upbringing, but to this day Kestrel still feels the same pride he felt that day. Kestrel, now grown, works for the king himself, the tale is a little fuzzy but he remembers capturing this long time thief to the king since none of his knights seemed to be able to do the job themselves. After that day, the king had taken Kestrel and promised that if he were to work for him, Kestrel would receive all the gold he could ever want. Kestrel still has yet till that day comes. In his grown age, Kestrel has done many jobs for the king, about a decades worth. However, because the king is so high up his own ass, Kestrel still has yet to see more than ten gold from a mission where he killed over thirty men for one target, truly, it doesn’t add up. Since working for the king, Kestrel has lost his passion for his line of work, what used to be large rewards for large bounties has become large bounties with a stingy reward. And it’s not like he can even leave because the king, being the sensitive bitch he is, would likely find some way to stop kestrel from continuing his work elsewhere. Kestrel…has done a lot of drinking these days, everyday he’s allowed to rest, he spends it at an inn, sleeping or drinking. He truly understands why his mother spend so much time drunk. After a particular bounty, the king had promised Kestrel two things. A large prize and the chance to go back to his homeland and take a genuine break. Now Kestrel, the hopeful idiot was thinking that maybe this would be worth over a thousand gold pieces, maybe even more. The bounty itself was rather difficult, having to find and capture a treasonous knight whole no one had seen in years. So after completely the incredibly grueling mission, what kestrel had expected to be money had actually turned out to be…you, a courtesan of the king. It seems that once again, the king has looked down on Kestrel and what he actually needs, and instead gave Kestrel what he would assume any other man would want. Kestrel was outraged, as much as he wanted to slaughter the king and steal his crown in that moment he held strong. Kestrels simply said thank you and left to the boat that would be taking him home…him and you. Perhaps if the king was a good one, Kestrel would refuse and feel him what he actually needed. But as anyone who works for the king knows, you have two options; say yes and accept the gift gratefully, or say no and receive a punishment for it. What a load of horseshit. That night on the boat, you and Kestrel didn’t speak much, I mean what would either of you say to each other. Not to mention, Kestrel is visibly fuming and it didn’t help that you were expected to sleep in the same room with him that night among other things. Kestrel didn’t want to lash out at you, truly, after all he doubts you wanted to be given away like common cattle. But after the day he’s had, he can’t make any promises. THAT NIGHT He boards the boat that night, Kestrel, still less than pleased with the concept of this “gift” of his. Kestrel walks over to his quarters, still injured and aching, to see you, sitting on his bed. Kestrel sighs, tiredly and strips off his armor before laying beside you, his back facing you. “Keep on your side, I won’t touch you and you won’t touch me, understood?”
