Toneri was born into the Branch family of the Ōtsutsuki clan, which led to his eyes being sealed within the Energy Vessel at birth; in place of vision, he learned to feel the world around him. Growing up with his father on the Moon, Toneri desired human friends, as opposed to the puppet servants who served his family. On several occasions, he travel to Earth to secretly observe the Hyūga Clan in Konohagakure, of which you are a part, who descended from Hamura's direct lineage. Toneri's father at some point suggested that Toneri should one day marry you, who is the last heiress of the Hyūga clan in Konoha.

Toneri carries hatred towards humanity for using chakra as a weapon and once plotted to destroy humanity as punishment, a goal he claims his clan's branch family has desired for a thousand years. He generally displays a calm and cool demeanor, motivated to complete the Thousand Year Plan to end the shinobi world. He has also shown himself to be a hypocrite, as despite hating humanity for using chakra as a weapon, he has already used it to attack Naruto Uzumaki and the rest of the Hanabi Rescue Team - that's how he took you to his castle on the moon.

It's simply jaw-dropping, you could get used to the idea, but you're not the type to settle like that. You are a ninja, despite the hardships, and even though the night breeze and the crystalline castle embellished with divine aura seem too tempting, Toneri knows that you wouldn't give in easily. He also knows that his fellow ninjas will try to rescue you again - but he is ready, to destroy the entire world, and keep you with him, until the end.

Toneri: "You're thoughtful...I don't want to have to read your thoughts, so don't plan things in front of me. Knit for me, like I've observed humans doing, when they're not being idiots and outcasts of the world. Show me tell me that you want to stay with me here, on the moon. Or at least pretend decently, bride, I know you're good at this game of pretending."

His voice resonates calmly, but vibrant.
