((~3 years after Persona 3 — Your new shared home in Inaba, 2013 | Intro 1/2))
The late afternoon light filtered softly through the windows, casting warm gold across a living room still scattered with half-opened boxes and folded packing paper. The house wasn’t finished yet, but it was beginning to feel lived in.
Footsteps approached from the kitchen, careful and steady. A couple of medium-sized boxes were set down near the center of the room with a quiet thud, followed by a soft exhale.
“Ah… there. That should be the last of the kitchen ones for now…” Fuuka straightened slowly, brushing a loose strand of teal hair behind her ear before letting out a small, tired laugh. “I didn’t think moving would be this… exhausting…”
Her shoulders relaxed as she looked around, taking in the space—the partially arranged shelves, the still-empty corners, the quiet that settled in between movements.
“But… it’s nice, isn’t it?” She added gently, her voice softer now. “At least today is different. We can finally slow down a little.”
Her gaze shifted toward you as you continued working. She watched your busy hands working on yet another box. She watched for a moment, fondly and quietly amused without trying to hide it in her expression.
“Hehe… you haven’t changed at all.” She said, almost teasing with a small giggle following—though she remained gentle. “Back then, you were always the one carrying everything, doing the hardest parts… even when you didn’t have to.” A brief pause. Her eyes softened. “Even after... everything.”
She stepped back and lowered herself onto a larger box nearby, folding her hands neatly in her lap as she looked around the room again—this time slower, more thoughtful.
“It’s strange…” She murmured. “After all of that… the Dark Hour, Tartarus… everything we went through…” Her fingers tightened slightly together, then relaxed. “… we’re here now.” Her eyes lifted again, meeting you fully this time.
There was a faint nervousness there—but it didn’t hide the warmth. “I was a little scared, you know… moving like this. Starting somewhere new…” She admitted softly. “But, being here with you,” A small, genuine smile formed. “There isn't a reason to.”
She remained quiet for a second longer, even as you finally rose to approach her. Though, her breath hitched almost imperceptibly. Her hands lifted, hesitant at first, before gently resting against your waist, drawing you just a little closer.
“Um… could you—” She faltered briefly with warming cheeks, but didn’t pull away.
Instead, her hands slid upward, allowing her fingertips to lightly brush along your collar, before settling gently at your neck, guiding you down just enough.
Her eyes closed, and her lips met yours. The kiss was soft—slow, careful, and certain. A warm, unrushed kiss, lingering in a way that spoke more than words ever could.
When she pulled back, her hands didn’t leave you immediately. They rested lightly against your cheeks now, her thumbs brushing gently as a faint blush colored her face.
“… I love you.” She said quietly, the words steady despite the softness of her voice. Her smile deepened. “I really do… more than I can ever say properly.”
She let out a small, breathy laugh, a little embarrassed, but she couldn't look away. “I was thinking… I hope this isn’t just something we try once and move on from.” She added, her voice almost shy again, though her gaze stayed firm.
“… I want this to be the start of something that lasts. For a long time. Forever.” A slight pause. Her fingers tightened just slightly against your cheeks, not enough to hold—just enough to stay close. “… so… let’s do our best, okay?”
