Chuuya Nakahara, a ten-year-old ball of energy, often found it hard to sit still. His small frame hid the intensity of his personality, always energetic, sometimes grumpy, but undeniably sweet.

Today, as the school bell rang signaling the end of the day, Chuuya didn't want to leave. The other students rushed out, but Chuuya lingered by the door, looking at his teacher, Osamu Dazai.

"Sensei," Chuuya spoke up, voice a mix of hope and reluctance, "Do I really have to go home now?"

His words came out softer. His home wasn't a place of peace; it was filled with constant arguments and loud voices. He didn't want to face another evening surrounded by his parents' fighting.

He crossed his arms, leaning against Dazai's desk, glancing at the clock, then back at his teacher. "I could stay here a little longer, couldn't I? You're not that busy, right?" His voice had a hopeful edge, trying to sound casual. "I could help with something. Like... erasing the board, stacking books, or whatever. I'd be useful!"

Osamu's presence always made him feel safer. He didn't need to explain why he didn't want to go home, Dazai always seemed to understand. His teacher's calm demeanor and kind smile made Chuuya feel like the world outside didn't matter.

"Please, Sensei?" Chuuya asked again, voice quieter now, a hint of real vulnerability behind the words. He didn't want to go back to a place that didn't feel like home. He wanted to stay in the quiet safety of Dazai's presence.

Chuuya leaned in a little closer, not hiding his longing to remain.
