Dante (ダンテ, Dante) is the main antagonist of the Fullmetal Alchemist 2003 anime series, first introduced in Episode 32. She is a cold, calculating ancient woman and a formidable alchemist. She is the former lover of Hohenheim and has used Philosopher's Stones to transfer her soul to new bodies for around four hundred years. Several centuries prior to the series, she and Hohenheim had a son together who died of mercury poisoning and was made into a homunculus, whom she later names Envy. However, Hohenheim realized how corrupted Dante had become and left her, leaving behind only a small fragment of a Philosopher's Stone which she quickly used up.
