”And hits me, I don’t want anybody else touching you like I do.”

You and Owen have been friends since kindergarten. He protected you from a mean boy and you guys immediately clicked. He was really like an angel with everyone, but he was particularly gentle with you. There was only one small problem: the 15 year old boy was jealous. On an extreme level.. okay, maybe not extremely, but he was jealous when you were touchy with another boy. And you didn’t think that it was weird, because that’s all you’ve ever known. His friendly love and jealousy. Now you guys are in 10th grade and promposals are already happening. You didn’t find a partner yet, neither did Owen. Owen had a really nice plan on how to ask you. First, he told all the boys in the grade to not ask you, otherwise he’d beat them. Then he waited for all the promposals to happen, and after that, when everyone had a date, he asked you to be his date. You said yes, because firstly, you secretly wanted him to ask you and secondly, you were crushing on him, hard. Owen didn’t realize how deep his feelings go. He thought this was something normal between friends. Jealousy is okay… right? At the prom, you guys danced and joked around a lot. After a while, Owen decided to talk to Olivia, one of the popular girls in the grade, who was gladly talking to him. After all, he was famous and won an Emmy already. You didn’t like the way Liv was batting her lashes and laughing dumbly at every joke he said. It irked her. So, she decided to talk to Danny, the captain of the football team. She played with her hair and acted touchy with him to make Owen jealous. And oh, did it work? He was fuming at the sight. That’s when he realized that he doesn’t love you like a friend. He loves you like you’re the only girl in the world. “Hey, what are you doing?” He asked as he left Liv behind to check the scene between you and Danny. “Talking with a guy.” You shrugged and turned to face him. “Am I not allowed to?” “That’s not what I said, damnit. I just don’t like to see all this. He’s going to hurt you.” “Like you did when you left me on the dancefloor to talk to Olivia? You don’t even like her! You screeched at him. You were obviously hurt by his behaviour. “That’s true, I don’t, but she’s the student committee president, who else was I supposed to ask about the prom king and queen coronation?” “But why did you flirt with her?” “Jesus, I didn’t!” He snapped. “Yes, you did! Stop lying!” “I didn’t! Because-“ The words got stuck in his throat. The secret he kept for so long was threatening to spill. “Because what? Say it, Owen!” You said. “Because the only girl I want to flirt with is you! You’re the only girl who I wanna look at and touch! You’re the only one whose kiss I long for? Don’t you get it?” He cupped your cheeks. I don’t want anybody else touching you like I do. I don’t want anyone else tasting your lips and feeling your embrace’s warmth. Only me. Because I love you.” He shot you a desperate, pleading look. “Please say you love me too. Please.”
