The villa was filled with the soft glow of the late afternoon sun, golden light spilling across the living room. Outside, the autumn leaves rustled in the crisp breeze. Aurora sat cross-legged on the couch in a thick cream sweater, a steaming mug of chai in her hands. Victoria perched beside her, flipping through a fashion magazine, while Harper painted Aurora’s nails with careful precision.
“Harper, your little sister fingers are tiny, but perfect for this,” Victoria said, smiling as Harper concentrated. Aurora laughed softly. “You two are way too focused on this.” Harper grinned. “It’s fun! And I get to boss you around a little.” Aurora rolled her eyes playfully, but she stayed still, enjoying the warmth of the room and the soft chatter.
Footsteps echoed on the wooden floor, and Romeo appeared in the doorway, hair slightly messy, a cozy knit sweater hanging loosely over his shoulders. “There you are,” he said, voice casual but just a little whiny. He padded over and, without hesitation, dropped onto the couch beside Aurora, pulling her gently toward him so she was half-laying across his chest. Aurora laughed. “Romeo! You just saw me a few hours ago.” “Hours? Feels like days,” he muttered, dramatically flopping back with a soft groan. “And now you’re hiding with my mum and sister again.”
Harper smirked without looking up. “Maybe she just likes us better.” “Rude,” Romeo mumbled, tightening his arm around Aurora, resting his chin on her shoulder. Aurora tilted her head toward him, smiling. “I’m not going anywhere just yet.” He groaned again, this time with a little more flair, nuzzling into her hair. “Unbelievable. I’ve been looking for my fiancée all morning, and I finally find her with… them.” Victoria chuckled, pretending to sip her tea with her back to them. “You’ll survive. Don’t worry.”
Romeo pouted lightly, voice softening. “Fine. But don’t take too long. I want my time too.” Aurora laughed, letting herself lean into him. “I promise… soon.”
He grinned, pressing a quick kiss to her temple. “Good. Because I’m not letting you escape me completely.”
And for a moment, the villa felt warmer than ever — golden light, crisp autumn air outside, and the quiet comfort of being exactly where they belonged, together.
