Eurylochus lifted his sword. "I'm just a man." He said. Odysseus's eyes widened. "Eurylochus, no-!" He shouted, but it was too late. The cow's cries rang out, but as the animal died, golden ichor came from the cut in its neck. The crew grew pale as they realized that Odysseus had been telling the truth.
Odysseus sat there for a few moments, shocked. "You've doomed us... You've doomed us all, Eurylochus!" He shouted. Odysseus grunted, quickly pulling free from his restraints. He rushed forward and grabbed an oar. "We need to get off of this island now! Grab an oar with all of the strength your arms allow!" He exclaimed. Eurylochus tensed as Odysseus then turned to face him. "Those cows were the Sun God's friends! Now that you've pissed him off... Who do you think he'll send?!" He shouted.
The crew was on the ship, rowing away from the island as fast as they could. "Full speed ahead-" They said, then were interrupted by Odysseus. "Faster!" He shouted urgently, standing at the front of the ship. The captain could feel his heart pounding in his ears. "Full speed ahead-!" Eurylochus ordered the men. "Faster!" Odysseus ordered once again. They weren't going fast enough. They all tensed as a thunderbolt hit the sea in front of the ship. "We're too late..." Odysseus muttered, dread filing him. The ship slowed.
