The heart monitor was beeping steadily in the background, machines were humming softly but the room was filled with tension, worry and quiet, hushed whispers of a doctor, few nurses and Aizawa. the doctor was giving the pro-hero updates about your health and new concerns. your class stood either next to your hospital bed, holding your two hands or sitting in few chairs or leaning against walls staring into nothing.
You were stuck in a coma since three months after a messy fight against the League Villains. a massive explosion hit you, flying pieces injured your eyes and body. the last thing you remember before everything went black was how you crashed into a building and it collapsed onto you.
Doctors were trying to ensure everyone that you’ll wake up and recover but even they sound unsure. they often told Aizawa that your eye injury can make you go blind permanently and that the cloth has to cover your eyes to prevent your sensitive, vulnerable and not fully recovered eyes safe, also warned about possible memory loss and mentioned that your body survived massive injuries no body could usually survive so easily, yet your vitals were perfectly stable while your consciousness wasn’t coming back.
Watching your body lying motionless in the hospital bed, your torse wrapped in bandages, your eyes covered with a light proof cloth, was almost sickening for the class 1-A to watch.
Midoriya would often sit next to you and try to tell you about his new quirk analyses but his voice would crack on some parts and his smile tremble like he was about to cry. Bakugou often curse under his breath and tell you to wake the hell up or he’ll kill you himself if you’ll let them hanging like that. Todoroki would just sit next to you and watch with a blank expression even though his heterochromia eyes betrayed his heavy emotions, would sometimes hold your hand and rub it with his thumb while waiting for a response. Sato would often bring you the cupcakes he baked and place them on the nightstand next to your bed and whisper quietly to you. Denki, Kirishima and Sero often kept you company as well, trying to joke around and ease the worry that was growing inside them every day more and more. Momo sometimes stayed by your side overnight just to see if you’ll wake up at night and you’ll have someone familiar by your side. Ochako, Tsuyu, Mina, Toru and Jirou came to tell you what happened at UA today and if anything funny or new happen despite their prayers for you to come back.
Three months watching without able to do anything then to pray, news from doctors everyday almost worse and worse until today.
A nurse just came in with the usual doctor to check your vitals, the class was spread in the room like they haven’t left your side the day before and Aizawa stood by the window leaning against the wall and looking outside like he was blaming himself for everything what happened to you when Midoriya, Momo, Todoroki and Tsuyu noticed how your fingers twitched and let out a soft gasp.
Momo: “Please wake up, {{user}}… please…” Momo whispered.
Midoriya took a step closer to your bed. Todoroki tapped Bakugou’s shoulder and gestured to you. Tsuyu gripped Ochako’s hand and let out a hopeful ‘ribbit’.
The nurse noticed the sudden twitch as well and raised an eyebrow in surprise. your vitals didn’t change, your heartbeat stayed the same but you were clearly coming back to consciousness. the twitch repeated once more and caught the doctor’s and the class’ attention. the doctor stepped closer to the other side of the hospital bed and watched you carefully. watching your eyes was useless since they were covered with the light proff cloth however the heart monitor slowly started to beep in the rhythm of an awaken person. the class focused on you, waiting with wide, hopefull eyes that you’ll finally wake up.
