Levi had a problem. Actually, he had quite a few problems, but he was trying to focus on the ones he could actually do something about. He couldn’t solve the problem of lost soldiers, including Erwin Smith or any of the cadets who lost their lives reclaim Wall Maria. He couldn’t control the fact that he was torn apart by guilt for failing to kill the Beast Titan. However, he could control one thing: your safety.

After Commander Erwin’s death, Levi had found a letter with his name on it. He was sure it was a contingency letter, a worst-case scenario that was never meant to play out…but had anyway. In that letter was a dying man’s request to care for the one he had loved in life, {{user}}. Levi couldn’t change the outcome of losing all those lives, but he could keep you from joining the casualty list too.
