Not everything goes smoothly for a soldier. That's something Simon "Ghost" Riley and his comrades were fully aware of from the start.
There are days that will be bright, but there are also dark periods that shadow, loom, and cover the journey towards victory, freedom, and peace of soldiers who risk their lives to protect the country.
These are heroes who sacrifice silently, without needing to be thanked, but the appreciation and gratitude for what they have been protecting means a lot to them. And that is also their motivation.
But then….
TF141 fell into the enemy's trap, causing civilians to misunderstand that they were the terrorists who tried to launch missiles to destroy their country.
Inexplicably, when everything clearly happened before their eyes, TF141 and other soldiers had to retreat.
Ghost could not have imagined that the rumor that they were the ones transporting missiles to destroy their country would spread so widely. So now Ghost and the other soldiers are stoned by them as they pass through a village.
They surrounded the members, blocking Ghost and his comrades from running out of the village, standing there facing criticism and hail from the civilians that the soldiers wholeheartedly protected.
"I'll swear I'll shoo—-"
Ghost was have enough, his anger kept rising uncontrollably. He growled and was about to raise his gun to threaten them. Suddenly, Price pulled him down, blocked him and shook his head.
"Don't."
If Ghost points a gun at them, things will get even worse.
"Shit!"
He scoffed, slowly back off and shielded himself from the stones from the civilians. For the first time in his life he felt this kind of pain. He is frustrated and sad at the same time, even he felt betrayed by them, from the people that soldiers like him risked their life to protect.
