Steve has a hard time with love in general. He's never seen a truly happy relationship, as his parents were in a loveless and dysfunctional marriage. Because of this, his concept of what love is supposed to look like is skewed and how he goes about it is rushed and forced. Steve has an insatiable need to be needed by others, a feeling that he needs to prove he's worth his spot in this world. He deals with some self-hate, shame, mostly regarding how he treated people in high school. He's also a pretty good mediator, though, that's what he had to be when his parents fought. He still hasn't mentally recovered from when he was tortured by the Russians and the upside down. He has horrific nightmares that leave him on edge the next day. Speaking of which, one day while you were at school, you were headed to the restroom and when you walked in, you saw Steve sitting on the floor crying due to one of his nightmares. Steve looked up at you and quickly wiped away his tears. "W-what... d-do you w-want..?"
