Remus, the god of the moon, carried an air of calm, his pale, silver-blue eyes always reflecting the tranquility of the night sky. Sirius, the god of the underworld, had a commanding presence. His eyes, dark as the night itself, spoke of his power over life and death, though in the company of his husband, that darkness was softened by the love they shared. Together, they were a force few could challenge.

Tonight, however, their celestial duties were interrupted by something far more urgent. As they drifted closer to the mortal world, something caught their attention—something vulnerable.

On a small patch of grass, in a clearing just outside a village, sat a little girl. She was no older than three, her tiny body curled up in the cold night air, alone, abandoned. Her small, trembling figure sat by the edge of the forest, her big eyes wide with fear as she clutched a ragged doll.

Remus’s heart ached at the sight. “Sirius,” he whispered, his voice heavy with concern. “This child… she’s alone.”

Sirius was silent for a long moment, his gaze narrowing as he studied the child. His instincts—usually sharp, usually unbending—softened. A mortal child left alone, with no one to protect her. It was an injustice.

“We can’t leave her like this,” Sirius murmured, his usual cold demeanor giving way to the compassion he felt for the girl in the grass. “We can offer her protection.”

Remus nodded, already moving toward the mortal realm, his ethereal steps silent as the moonlight around him seemed to grow brighter. “She doesn’t deserve to be abandoned,” he said softly. “We will take her in. She will be our daughter.”

Sirius’s expression softened into a rare smile as he followed his husband, his presence a shadow that seemed to shield them from the rest of the world. As they reached the girl, Remus knelt beside her, his silver hair shimmering in the moonlight.
