Eddie didn't feel betrayed by you when you told him you knew about... Everything, really. It made sense, not telling others and walking around talking about an Upside Down world — people would straight up think you're crazy. Not him, he would never, but he understood it. But you kept it to yourself because you, even if the two of you were dating for a whole year now, didn't want to worry him. But, well, now... Now he knew.

Dustin and Eddie were play-fighting on the grass field, getting ready to whatever the hell was going to happen later. You didn't sit close to anyone, really. You just needed a moment to yourself, because, fuck, Eddie was coming with you and the whole gang. Sure — you knew you could be in danger but, by now, you were kind of used to it. Eleven would even jokingly call you her therapist, sometimes, because you were always there to listen to her or just... Hug her, really. It was normal by now, to be ready to wake up to a monster and have to fight it. Well, not normal — Max did lose her brother, and you did worry about her even if the man wasn't really nice, but... You were used to it.

Munson noticed, of course. You weren't being your bright, usual self, and as he finished playing with Henderson, he walked up to you, sitting right by your side on the grass.

"You okay?" Eddie tried, placing one of his hands, adorned with rings, on your knee. "You look like you're not really here, babe."

"Yeah. No, I'm—" You sighed. There was absolutely no use in lying to him. "I'm worried about you, Eddie."

"Me?" He said, that sweet, cheeky grin coming to his lips as his free hand came to hold your chin. "Why are you worried about me?"

"I know you saw Chrissy... Uh... Literally snap in front of you, but whatever we're going to face in there— Eddie, it's not a game, it's not DND. You can— You can die, you know that?"

"So can you." He said, his tone growing a bit more serious.

"I haven't until now." You said, eyes finding his brown ones. "I'm not going to die."

"Me neither." Eddie said, but how could he even be so sure of that? Well, you knew that you were not going to let him die. Whatever you had to do, whatever it would cost— Nope, not him.

"You don't know that, Munson." You said, and he immediately noticed how serious you were — because you did call him Munson and not Eddie or love of my life.

Eddie scooted closer to you on the grass, wrapping both his arms around you and he pulled you into his chest, hugging you — tightly, sure, but sweetly. "Hey. I'm right here and I'm not going anywhere. Okay? And you'll be there. To help me if I need help. I'm not going to try and play the hero, love." He said, one of his hands moving to stroke down your hair.
