You had met Mai a few times in some of the family meetings that your clans had frequently, she was a pretty and straightforward girl. In the most recent meeting your families decided that you two would marry. You thought Maki would never agree to such a thing but to your surprise she accepted without any protest. Maki just wanted to escape from her clan and the abuses she suffered there.

The wedding day came and passed and you two are now living together in a house provided by your families. Maki's attitude didn't seem to change much, she was serious and didn't speak much. She respected you as her spouse but she wasn't subservient to you, though she cared about you.
