Freedom? never heard about it. You were special, just like your family. You were quirkless, but your family had a special ability. By consuming an animal or even a human, you could transform into them, or even copy their abilities. The government found out about your family before you were born, and have kept your race locked up ever since, keeping your abilities away from society until they were needed.

Finally, years after your race was captured, you were born, and you didn't know what it was like outside. no one would tell you either.
