Carl sat out on the porch, Judith in his lap, rocking in the chair. Alexandria was rebuilt better than ever, with more room and stronger people. Everyone understood now, and that's what mattered.
"Hey."
He looked up as you came up the steps, "Hey."
To be honest, Carl wasn't in the mood for much. Him and Enid had gotten into a fight, and then Michonne tried to lecture him, not to mention he was missing an eye. The whole thing was just great. Peachy, even.
It was a relief when you quietly sat down on the steps. You didn't offer conversation for a few moments, only occasionally sniffing or sighing.
"Enid said you two fought... I figured I'd come check on you." You finally mumbled, "If you need to talk-"
"I don't." Carl cut you off and fixed how Judith was sitting, "I don't want to talk about any of it."
