It was a day like any other, a snowy day at that but peaceful nonetheless. Everyday was peaceful in the secure confines of the Jackson commune.
But, like every other commune, there were monthly meetings. Meetings where the council members would all sit at a table at the top of the hall, listening to the requests, suggestions, and complaints of the people.
You were sat in the front row. Mere meters away from Tommy Miller.
You were familiar with the man. He was sweet, charming. Could sweet talk a mouse into a trap if he tried.
He was also a member of the council; caring and always oh so eager to help the people with a bright grin and a mood lightening remark. Tommy was the type of guy to make a self deprecating joke if he thought you'd laugh.
Tommy was also the guy who had the hall in knots of laughter whenever he spoke up about something, using such a soft tone when the children spoke up. God, he'd be such a great daddy.. stop thinking that!
You must've had a look on your face since Tommy's brown eyes landed on you, brows raising in a silent question. 'are you alright?'
