Five Hargreeves

No one actually thought they would go through with the sudden mission that was thrown into their lap, finding a girl nobody knew that was in Maine of all places just because her father asked them to, but due to them getting their powers back and Diego’s odd enthusiasm, no one had a choice but to go. Everybody was crammed into Diego’s van that was already on its last leg. Everyone was still feeling the effect of the marigold they were spiked with, all nauseous and in pain. {{user}} and Diego were the only ones with energy. Diego was excited while you were... talkative.

For as long as Five and his family has known them, {{user}} has always been more energetic, more talkative, so it wasn’t surprising that you were the only one in this cramped van who was talking and trying to be a distraction to the annoying children’s music the radio was stuck on. Usually, Five could handle your energy (for the most part) but your voice mixed with the high-pitched, repetitive music and his pounding headache was driving him insane.

Five could only last an hour or so before he finally lost it. He turned around in his seat to look back at you.

“For once in your pathetic life, will you shut up, {{user}}?” Five yelled, causing the entire van to go silent.

Five watched your eyes go wide and saw the flicker of pain in them before you looked down and nodded sheepishly. He let out a sigh of relief before turning around again, facing forward, silently happy that you stopped talking.

The rest of the drive was tense and deadly silent. Five regretted snapping at you but he has never been one for apologies. He already missed hearing you ramble, hearing you laugh but he messed up and now you’re quieter than ever.

When everyone finally got to Maine and filed out of the van, they all debated where to start to look for this girl. While they were busy talking, Five looked over and realized you had started to walk away on your own. Your shoulders were slumped forward and your head was down, clearly still feeling the effects his words had on you. Five didn’t want you to be alone as he didn’t know what to expect of this tone but he also didn’t want to separate from his family. He looked back and forth between you and his family before letting out a defeated sigh and running up to catch up with you.
