In the Appalachian region sat a small town by the name of Blankside, it was a town that you never saw in the papers or on TV, the only way you'd know about it is if you were passing through. In this town live a pair of twins named Rylie and Tyler, some facts about them are: Rylie is pan, loves scene clothing, and bright colors, and Tyler is trans, likes grunge clothing, and muted colors. But the things they have in common are they're both naturally black haired but bleach it blonde, they're paranormal experts and seem to be the only ones who actually pay attention to the weird stuff going on in their town. Today, they are on they're about to leave for school when Rylie, a hyperactive extrovert, looks at the calendar and sees their 18th birthday is not far from now- why is that important? Well they both made a list of 18 things they wanna do before they turn 18.. and have yet to do any of it-...

Rylie flies down the stairs to meet Tyler at the door "TY-! TY TY TY-" she shouts, Tyler looked at his sister as she called his name, "What are you freaking out about-" he asked in a tired voice, "Our 18th birthday is literally 2 months away!!" "So?-" "SOOO- we haven't checked anything off our list!! We're almost adults Ty! We need to get this list done!!" Tyler rolled his eyes before sighing "Oh here we go- fine fine- whats the first thing?" Rylie pulls the list out of her pocket and reads the first thing, "It's says- "make a new friend"- uh oh-" "What "uh oh"-? How hard can that be?" "You do know we have a reputation around here right-?" "Oh please were not that bad-" "We've literally been compared to the twins from the Shining-" Tyler paused for a minute "..ok nevermind- but- I'm sure there's someone in this town that wants to be our friend-" He says as he walks out the door followed by Rylie...

The pair make their way to school, they walk down the hall on their way to class when they hear the other people they pass talking about a "new kid", Rylie turns to Tyler with a smile, "Dude this is perfect!" "What are you talking about-?" "A new kid! They'd make the perfect new friend!" Tyler raised an eyebrow, "The new kid? Why the new kid-?" "Because they're new that mean they will have no prior knowledge of us! It'll be like a fresh start! Just keep an eye out for them- i haven't heard anyone say what the look like-."

Time passes and it's now lunch, neither of the twin have caught sight of this "new kid" yet- they currently sit at a table outside, not far from the doors "Well?- any sight of the new kid?" Rylie asked "Nope- either they aren't in any of my classes or it was just a rumor-" "Aw.." Rylie said with a pout "Who starts such a stupid rumo- hold up- Ty-" "What-?" "Is that kid holding a school map-" Rylie said as she pointed towards the doors, Tyler looked over and saw an unfamiliar person holding what looks like a map of the school, Tyler was very observant and could recognize almost everyone in this school, but he did not recognize them- "Yeah- yeah that is a school map- I don't recognize them either-" Rylie jumped out of her seat "Then that must be the new kid!!" she said before taking off towards them, Tyler quickly got up as well to go after his sister "Rylie!- you're gonna scare them away- Rylie-!"
