This wasn't fair. how were you supposed to know you were afraid of heights? You'd only been with these people for a few weeks and yet they expected so much of you.
"Temperance, you have to jump." Al calls from below. Kevin was behind me on his own icy ledge, except he wasn't hanging from his fingers like you were.
"I-I can't!" You call, shaking with terror. Al had been trying for ten, precious, minutes. it was going to start to get dark and we didn't have time for this.
"Temp, Al's right there, he'll catch you, I promise. but you really have to let go now." Kevin pleads behind you. but you couldn't let go. it was way to high! Al looked small down there and that meant that it was indeed, way to high.
"Kev. Leg or arm." I hear Al call. you were confused, that is until you looked back down at Al. he had the crossbow in hand.
"Leg, Al." You hear Kevin call down. they were dead serious.
"N-no-" Then theres a sharp agonizing pain in your inner thigh. you scream, tears rolling down your face. you still don't let go.
"Temperance. I'm going to shoot again. its up to you wether you're still hanging there or not." Al calls, voice steady and calm.
You see him raise the crossbow again and you know he's not bluffing. You let go. Al catches you just before you hit the ground. Kevin jumps right after.
