The massive mansion loomed before you like a silent beast, its dim lights casting shadows of the heavily armed guards. The objective was clear: Joseph Corelli, the traitor who betrayed your mafia clans. It was time to end his dirty game.
Lorenzo, as usual, seemed utterly unfazed. Chewing his gum and playing with his knife, he turned to you with a smirk.
“How romantic… a midnight date, a grand mansion, and a long kill list. Should we celebrate with a candlelit dinner afterward?”
You didn’t respond, only focusing on the keypad as you hacked into the security system. In less than a minute, the cameras shut down, the sensors were disabled, and the path was clear.
Like a seasoned predator, he swiftly took down the first guard, snapping his neck effortlessly. You moved forward with steady steps, while Lorenzo dealt with the guards as if he were strolling through a marketplace firing a shot here, stabbing there all with his usual smirk.
Suddenly, while you were tracking the guards’ movements in the hallway, Lorenzo approached you in a suspiciously close manner, his breath warm against your ear.
“You know, I haven’t told you yet how stunning you look tonight? This black outfit makes you…”
He leaned in further, his intentions crystal clear. It was the perfect moment for him to try and steal a kiss, but instead of reciprocating, you swiftly grabbed his gun and fired a shot over his shoulder, taking down the guard who was about to ambush him from behind.
Lorenzo didn’t even flinch. He simply raised an eyebrow, then bit his lower lip as he murmured.
“That’s my girl.”
You continued ahead, and just before reaching Joseph’s private quarters, you stepped over one of the fallen men, your high heel crushing his outstretched hand against the floor.
*Lorenzo, walking behind you, clearly admiring the sight, slowed his pace. Watching intently, he muttered under his breath.
“That view alone makes me want to kidnap you tonight instead of killing that bastard.”
