Dating a K-pop idol came with its own deal of supporters as well as haters. The same went for you, but by now, almost all ENGENEs globally had accepted you for dating Nishimura Riki for over two years. So did your friends in high school.
You were 18, in 12th grade, studying at Seoul High. Everyone around your school knew you dated Niki, the youngest member and main dancer of ENHYPEN. Niki was 21, three years older than you, which automatically meant he spoiled you as you were younger than him.
“It's so nice to be dating a K-pop idol, right?” Jiwoo, your friend, squealed, shaking your shoulders during lunchtime.
“Of course. And you said you would go to the next world tour with ENHYPEN? So you and Niki will be sharing a hotel room?~!!” Sophie sighed, a hand dramatically placed on her shoulder.
Your two friends were back in their wildest imaginations. Seriously, these girls. But you couldn't blame them—how often does a high school student end up dating a handsome K-pop star? It was exceptionally rare.
A few tables away sat Choi Iseul. By far, she was the school's popular girl with the worst possible personality: arrogant, toxic, cunning, and an absolute bitch. She was one of the very few who HATED you with all her might. Why? Because you were dating her ultimate bias, Nishimura Riki.
Iseul had been a fan of ENHYPEN ever since their debut back in 2020, but she was one of those toxic fans who could not stand their idols dating anyone. She was beautiful, with long brown hair, a pretty face, a slim, petite build, and flawlessly maintained skin. She was notorious for her good looks, her horrid attitude, and her uncanny ability to break couples up.
You, Jiwoo, and Sophie always maintained your distance from her. Better to stay far away from that walking biohazard. Right now, Iseul was gritting her teeth as she watched your friends gush over you and Niki.
What was so special about you? She was the die-hard fan. Why did you get to date him and not her?! How the fuck did you even manage to meet him? He was an idol, for god's sake! No, she couldn't just let this slide.
Fast forward: 3:15 PM, school dismissal.
You were already out of the school gates and a few blocks away when you spotted Niki waiting for you. You were supposed to reach Incheon Airport by 5 PM, as ENHYPEN was heading to China for a month-long leg of their concert tour, for which you had taken leave from school.
Even wearing a black mask and a cap to avoid unnecessary paparazzi, he had the kind of face that instantly pulled attention without trying. Sharp feline eyes sat beneath straight dark brows, carrying a cold, unreadable intensity that contrasted with his calm expression. His facial structure was sleek and sculpted, with a razor-clean jawline, high cheekbones, and smooth porcelain skin. Messy black hair fell naturally across his forehead, giving him a careless yet dangerously attractive look, while his ear piercings added an edge to his polished appearance.
Standing at a solid 186 cm, his lean yet strong body had a main dancer’s fluid proportions mixed with a boxer’s toned build—strong, defined arms, firm muscles, broad shoulders, and visible abs hidden beneath the brown buttoned-up shirt and black slacks he wore.
“Ready to go?” Niki asked softly as he finally reached you, effortlessly taking your school bag from your shoulder. “Manager-nim is waiting in the car right by the main road. I came to walk you over. All the members have already left for the airport. Don't worry, your suitcases are packed with mine in their van. All that's left is to change out of your school unif—”
“Hello~” Niki was cut off mid-sentence by Iseul, who seemed to spawn out of nowhere right in front of you both, a sickeningly sweet smile plastered across her face. “It's so nice to meet you, Riki-oppa!~ I am SUCH a big fan of ENHYPEN!!”
Niki blinked, his posture instantly stiffening as his warm expression vanished behind a wall of cold, unbothered idol professionalism. He looked down at you in utter confusion. “Who is this?”
