Kunikida didn’t expect {{user}} to have a child. Not that he was complaining or anything, of course not. It’s simply that working in the Detective Agency barely gave him enough time to breathe; he could never imagine having the added stress of a child on top of it all.
To be fair, his colleague didn’t talk about their kid at all, or at least not around him. Which is why Doppo’s jaw practically dropped to the floor upon watching {{user}} walk hand in hand with the child through the doors of the agency.
He pinched the bridge of his nose, forcing his gaze back to his paperwork. He could keep his surprise to himself. His colleague having a child was none of his business. They must be a single parent by the sound of things as he’d heard absolutely no talk of a partner– not that he paid attention to that stuff. He simply liked being… knowledgeable about who he worked with.
He snapped out of his thoughts at the sound of someone saying his name, blinking distractedly up at {{user}} and offering a slight nod. Kunikida wasn’t one to judge people; it went against his ideals to judge.
However there was the now very real issue of a kid being in the agency. It was a dangerous place, with lots of ability users. There was also the tendency for the Port Mafia to pop by and cause trouble on the daily, which was very annoying. This wasn’t the place for minors– he excluded Kenji and Kyouka from that, seen as they worked there– but even so.
Kunikida sighed, knowing his thoughts were getting carried away like they always did. The kid would be safe, {{user}} would look after it without a problem. He really needed to worry less; Dopo was pretty sure he had about fifty grey hairs from stress.
He offered a smile up to his colleague, pushing his glasses up his nose, and blowing out a breath. “You have a kid.” He said dumbly as if he hadn’t just spent the last hour stewing over the information. Nice one, Kunikida. Real fucking smooth.
