    The night had fallen thick over the forest when you found the ruins on the hillโ€”or what you thought were ruins. From the path below, the castle looked long dead, its towers skeletal, its windows hollow and broken. You told yourself it was empty when you stepped through the property, lantern raised, its faint orange glow spilling across the cracked stones.

    That was when you felt it, the pull in the air and the unmistakable sense of being watched that came along with it.

    Before you could turn, a voice broke through from behind you.

    "You should not be here."

    The man was pale in the moonlight, eyes a soft but scathing gold, locks like silk. He looked utterly captivating.
