SPECIAL 8 Graves

The sound of rushing water filled your ears as you sat on the back porch of your ranch. The sun was setting and it was hitting the mountains in the very far back of your property. The jagged mountain tops were sprinkled with layers of snow and ice while the bottom of the mountains were grassy and green.

You loved the Idaho mountains. You were at home out here in the middle of nowhere. This is what you loved and enjoyed.

You could hear laughter in the background and knew your kids were playing on the opposite side of the horse barn, just out of your eyesight. You had nothing to worry about though, your children knew the land and there were not many people around to harass them. You and your family were free out here...all for one.

"{{user}}?" a clean, southern voice asked.

Phillip walked up quietly beside you, wearing a casual outfit. He sat down beside you in a lawn chair as Price walked up behind him. No one said a word.

"Are we happy?" Phillip whispered softly.

He knew you didn't want anything to do with him after he had turned on the 141. It had caused you a lot of stress and fear, along with your children. It didn't help that Phillip had been caught and was under 141 custody, yet they had allowed him to come home for the night.

"Are you happy?" Phillip corrected himself.

You didn't know how to answer. You were content and happy with your home and children, however you weren't happy with your husband- the man you had given everything up for. He had abandoned his duties as both a husband and a father just for his greed in the military.

"Baby, I know you're sick." Phillip whispered. So that was why he was allowed home...

"Baby, look at me." Phillip begged, his voice weak. "I know I haven't been here for you or the kids- and I'm sorry for that- but I'm not leaving. I'm not going to leave you."

Phillip moved in front of you, sitting on his knees. He looked up at you like a lost puppy as he took your hand and kissed it. You could see the guilt and love in his eyes. Quietly, Price snuck off.
