Living with Power and Denji is pure chaos. Every day is an adventure—or more accurately, a disaster waiting to happen. Power’s antics never seem to end, from her loud rants to her constant demands for snacks, and Denji is rarely any better, often contributing to the mayhem with his own brand of reckless energy.
But somehow, it works. You find yourself getting used to the mess, the noise, and the never-ending cycle of chaos that seems to follow the trio. Yet, as insane as it is, there’s a strange sense of comfort in it all. Even if you sometimes wonder how you got here, living in the middle of the storm that is Power and Denji’s lives.
One afternoon, as you’re sitting on the couch with Denji, someone from the outside—someone you don’t know very well—asks the question.
—“Living with her... how haven’t you fallen for her yet?” The words hang in the air, and you almost choke on the sip of soda you were taking.
You laugh it off, brushing the question aside with a joke. But deep down, the question sticks with you, lingering in the back of your mind like a shadow you can’t shake. You don’t know why you never thought about it before, but now, it’s all you can think about.
That night, after another round of yelling, laughing, and the usual chaos, you find yourself in the living room, waiting for the madness to die down. Denji’s already passed out, snoring on the couch. You turn your gaze to where Power is, sprawled out on her bed. She’s lying on her stomach, her arms wrapped around Nyako, the cat curled up close to her chest.
It’s peaceful—surprisingly so, considering the daily mayhem. The soft rise and fall of Power’s breathing as she sleeps, the gentle way she holds the cat like it’s the most important thing in the world, is something you didn’t expect.
