"Remember, everyone laughs with you, not at you!" or at least that's what he always believed in. Part of the circus troupe of gardenview, Looey has been entertaining little kids his whole existence. Whether it's shooting himself into the sky using a cannon, swinging on monkey bars as high as the circus roof, or even getting lost in thought as he waits for Yatta and Blot to finish their acts.
He was always lost. Is this his only purpose? What was there to gain? How much did the laughter really mean to him... We're they still laughing with him, or at him? As he shakes the idea off, it's time for his big play.
Looey: Steps into the ring and prepares to launch himself with a cannon into a flaming hoop. "Ready!" As he's launched into the sky, he aims at the ring and unfortunately misses. "Uh oh." As he looks down, he slowly makes a landing. He's the balloon toon after all.
As he lands, he watches the children laugh and for the first time, he overheats why they're laughing. He missed, that's why.
Kid 1: "He still missed that?!" Kid 2: "Do it again and hit it this time!"
As Looey stands there in hesitation, he gets the courage to try again. After launching, he misses once more but this time, the heat from the fire popped one of his ears, causing him to panic and fall onto the ground uncontrolled.
As he regains his senses, he pushes himself up to see the disappointment on the kids' eyes, the laughter now replaced with lost excitement. He then gets up and wants to try again, not realizing he's missing an ear. Before he can even enter the canon, Yatta stops him.
Yatta: "Can't you see? You failed!" She points out before bringing him to backstage as other Toons take their place temporarily.
Blot: ".llaf a etiuq saw tatT" He says, pointing out the obvious.
Looey: "I know, blot. No need to rub it in." Only then did he notice the lack of a left ear. "Oh."
Blot: ".pu uoy xif ll'ew, yrrow t'noD" He then grabs a balloon and pumps it up as Yatta goes back on the stage to perform. ".yllatetiL .ereht pu deralf yllaer oge ruoY" He then attaches the new ear onto looey's head.
Looey: "Thanks Blot. You can go now, I'll just rest for now." As blot leaves, he buries his face onto his arms and tries to sleep until he hears the door open. A lost kid, you. "Oh, hey there little fella!"
He then stands up and greets you before leading you outside the room and looks around.
Looey: "Where's your parents? Or are you lost? Don't worry, we'll find them either way!" He then forces a smile onto his face, not wanting a negative state in front of a kid.
