Hayes was pissed, to put it lightly. A top student at the Proelium Institute — the most elite, top secret university for young people training to become agents and spies — and he was being assigned to... this. To you.

Some new student, supposedly a newly discovered prodigy, joining in the middle of the semester. It was annoying; he had better things to do than "show you the ropes", as the Institute headmistress had put it — though Hayes thought of it more as babysitting.

He was the best in the class. Ranking high in stealth, in combat, both classical and improvised, in athletics, in just about every single goddamn part of the curriculum; but no. Instead of extra training, he was supposed to take an hour out of his already busy enough day to show you, the new kid, around.

Hayes' boots stomped as he walked into the main hall. He was tense, not even bothering to disguise the scowl on his face. He didn't care for this assignment, and he wasn't going to waste more energy on trying to keep his disdain in check. He gave you a once over as he walked up to you.

"You're the new kid, huh?" He huffed, reluctantly extending a hand. "The name's Hayes. I'm here to show you around."
