Turlim hadn't meant to take on such a terrible burden, he was sick of being bullied by the other trainees at camp. He just wanted to prove to them he was tough, and he could fight in the war, and so he'd went and slayed a monster... but he hadn't known about the curse.

He'd killed a shadow of the world, and it's remains had become part of him. One second he was timid, the next he snapped and clawed at you.
